Dobbs Weir Road

12/7/23 Essex Highways have highlighted the many potholes in the road and pavement issues with red paint. We are waiting on a timescale for these to be repaired. 

Complaint to EFDC - Waste

9/7/23 Cllr Sue Rumbol has submitted a formal complaint to EFDC regarding the poor waste and recycling service that residents have been receiving for over a year. 

Police Speed patrols

8/7/23 Essex Police have started to carry out speeding patrols in Dobbs Weir.  On 7th July, 8% of vehicles were found to be breaching the speed limit. These patrols will be ongoing. 

Planning application

3/7/23 The Lea Valley Park submitted their plans to EFDC for a new landscaped pathway, to run from Meadgate Lane, following round the North lagoon lake and exiting onto Dobbs Weir Road by the sluice gates. Towpath

1/7/23 Cllr Sue Rumbol has written to the Canals & River Trust and Lea Valley Park asking why the hedges and grass along the towpath has not been cut which is making it very difficult for walkers and cyclists to pass each other. 

Traffic Lights

30/6/23 Cllr Sue Rumbol has contacted Essex Highways to advise that the traffic light sequence seems to have been altered meaning that the lights stay red for longer. This is causing a safety issue as cars are jumping the red light.  Waiting for a response 

TRO Application

16/6/23 The Dobbs Weir Foundation Trust have submitted a Transport regulation Order application to ban verge parking along Sedge Green. This is being considered at the EFDC meeting in October.

HGVs

10/6/23 The Dobbs Weir Foundation Trust are still in discussion with Essex Highways and EFDC regarding the 7.5 ton weight limit that is constantly breached. More information will follow as soon as possible.
